The oil separator works by capturing oil droplets. As compressed air passes through the separator unit, it is forced to make a series of rotations, slowing it down and forcing it to lose energy. This causes oil droplets to fall from the moving air and collect at the bottom of the separator unit. The oil is then discharged from the compressed air or, in some cases, recycled back to the compressor for reuse.
