Pressure filters are commonly used in hydraulic systems. They are designed to withstand the maximum pressure that the system can output and are sized according to the flow rate of that system. They provide protection for sensitive components working downstream of the filter.
When the fluid is pushed into the inlet of the filter, the high-pressure filter works. This allows the filter to block contaminants and filter them out of the system.
Due to high pressure, this process is usually very fast. Because it is so fast, it is important to pay close attention to your differential pressure indicator. If that number goes up, there may be dirt clogging the filter element, which means the filter element needs to be replaced or cleaned.
