What is a two stage fuel filtration skid?

A two stage fuel filtration skid is a coalescer oil purification system used to remove particulate matter and water from diesel fuel. This skid-mounted filter typically consists of two filtration stages, each with specific filtration elements designed to remove different types of impurities.

The first stage involves the use of a primary filter to remove large particles such as dirt, rust, and debris. If left unchecked, these contaminants can cause serious damage to fuel system components such as fuel injection pumps and injectors.

The second stage of filtration involves the use of coalescing separation filters to remove water and smaller particulate matter. Since water is a major contributor to fuel pollution, it is essential to ensure that the diesel fuel delivered is as dry as possible.
