Coalescer cartridges are important industrial equipment for liquid-liquid or liquid-gas separation of hydrocarbons in the oil and gas industry. The coalescer cartridges uses its baffle to coalesce small particles or droplets of hydrocarbons into larger particles or droplets, which are then separated.
The coalescer cartridge is used as the first stage of the hydrocarbon material pass filter/separator vessel, mainly used to coalesce the emulsified water and remove the particles in the hydrocarbon material.
Separator cartridges use the second stage of the filter/separator vessel. Their sole function is to line up the coalesced water produced by the primary filter while allowing the hydrocarbon material to flow through. The water sinks into the filter/separator sump and is not carried downstream. All particle filtration is done by first stage coalescing filters.
