Coalescing Separation Cartridge

Coalescing separation cartridges are used in a variety of industrial applications to remove particulate matter, water and other liquids. Used to separate two liquid phases with different density, viscosity and interfacial tension properties. They effectively separate liquid-liquid from oil, gas and chemical applications, extending equipment life.

Coalescing separation cartridges consist of a series of filter media that combine contaminants to make it easier to separate fluid mixtures for removal of contaminants before they enter the system and cause damage.This Coalescing separation cartridge model is H3339.

As the liquid flows from the inside out through the first-stage coalescing separation cartridge media, the dispersed water droplets adhere to the media fibers. As the flow continues, additional water droplets attach to the fibers and merge or coalesce with other water droplets. This coalescence process continues until the droplets grow large enough to be released from the medium and discharged from the cartridge into the vessel. Due to the higher specific gravity, and therefore greater density than hydrocarbon liquids, most of the water droplets fall by gravity to the bottom of the container and are collected in the guide part of the container or collection chamber. At this stage, any remaining small droplets dropped without sufficient mass are removed by the second-stage hydrophobic separator cartridge.
